Arrived red-faced to very welcoming people. We moved ourselves to the balcony of the café and took up our positions, depending upon our choice of subject. Plenty of interesting buildings, boats, harbour machinery to draw. Some even drew people. Had a good chat with a woman called Elizabeth, who's done 'seven years architecture' and draws with a pen. I'm not that confident and prefer a pencil and eraser close by. I use an old typewriter eraser: shaped like a pencil, sharpens like a pencil and erases accurately :)
The session normally lasts two hours, but I had to shorten my visit after a 'phone call had me cycling back up Gloucester Road an hour later. The experience was fun and productive.
A couple of hours later I was in the car with my bf, on our way to Cabot Circus to see CARMEN in 3D. Beautifully crisp and clear picture - probably THE best 3D movie I've ever seen. Perhaps it was the lack of staged 3D gimmicks, bar the occasional thrusting hand or thrown flowers. I never tired of the sense of space the effect made upon the screen. That it may have made it too intense at times, may be my only criticism. A tremendous production. Carmen was an utterly believable cow.
